Message from the President: Cynthia Rodriguez

The Metropolitan tournament started out with a drizzle and ended in a downpour.

Clubs went flying and players went sliding.  Many determined players finished and a

few decided to call it quits.   I for one, enjoyed the warm dry comforts of the clubhouse

and hot coffee after completing 11 holes of the wettest round of golf I have ever

played.  Luckily no one got seriously injured or sick.  And some had the best game

ever – they must be part fish.

Club Information:

Ike Hernandez Memorial Match Play Competition:  The March and April

Tournaments will be the first and second rounds of the Match Play competition.  32

players are signed up to play.  You will be given competition guidelines at Crystal

Springs.  2 flights with 16 players each have been determined.  Your first opponent is

the person you are paired with.  Please make sure to follow the guidelines for match

play but you must also follow our tournament rules – as this is a competition within

a competition.  Do not get careless and end up being disqualified from one or both.

Western Regional Tournament registrations are being accepted.  Sign-up early

as there will be a maximum of 144 players at this year’s event which will be played at

Eagle Ridge and Summit Pointe.
